Marlay House – Dublin
Dunmore worked with architect Peter O’Donnell and interior designer Tonya Douglas on the restoration of Dublin’s historic Marlay House. The goal for the renovation of this private residence was to create a modern family home that respected the building’s heritage.
Traditional joinery
Dunmore used traditional joinery throughout, creating bespoke architraves based on the architect’s research.
This detail can be seen in the hallway’s panelling, grand stairs, and in the bedrooms with their window linings and folding shutters.
Gilded detailing
In the main living room with floor-to-ceiling wall panelling, playful use of colour can be seen in rich blue walls and subtle gilded detailing.
Art-deco references
Tucked away is the owner’s very own American style bar, with tin-tiled ceiling, hammered copper countertop with hand-stitched leather bar front, and art-deco references, providing a plush setting for relaxing and home entertaining.
